The initial seven years since completing her post-graduate studies, Dr. Akshita Mehrotra served the dual role of a practicing clinician as well as a university teacher. She initially worked as a Lecturer at the prestigious Government Dental College, Mumbai for two and a half years. Subsequently, she served as Lecturer and later Assistant Professor at Department of Prosthodontics, Terna Dental College, Navi Mumbai from November 2002 to May 2006. She has been in private practice in Mumbai at her own clinic “Smile & Profile”, since the year 2001.

Having specialized in Prosthodontics gives her considerable authority in all types of Fixed and Removable Denture Work, Implant Prosthodontics, Crowns & Laminates For Esthetics and Functional Restoration Of Teeth, Full Mouth Rehabilitation and Smile Designing procedures.

She has undertaken extensive training in Root Canal Treatment and Esthetic Dentistry and has kept herself updated with the latest developments in the field of Prosthetic and Restorative Dentistry by attending various international conferences and courses. She has presented several papers in various conferences and has been invited to lecture in various dental scientific meets. Her clinical work has been published in reputed scientific journals. She is a Life Member of Indian Prosthodontic Society and Indian Dental Association and has been an active member of International Team for Implantology (ITI) since the last four years.

Besides practicing at her own clinic, “Smile & Profile” at Andheri West (earlier situated at Vile Parle East), Mumbai, she is attached as a Consultant Prosthodontist in several other speciality dental clinics in Mumbai, wherein she handles difficult denture cases and cases requiring implants and maxillofacial prosthesis, cosmetic dentistry and full mouth rehabilitation.
