To eliminate all risks of infection & cross-contamination, we undertake stringent measures for sterilization & infection control in our clinic.
We strongly believe that while practicing the best dental treatment protocols is vital, it is most important that our patients must always be provided and protected by the highest quality standards of sterilization and hygiene.
Our sterilization protocol has been designed after researching the guidelines laid down by the American & European Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and is inclusive of the recommendations of the committee of Dental Office Standards, Indian Dental Association. It includes the following:-
- Sterilization of Dental instruments: Immediately after use, all instruments are soaked in a disinfectant solution for the stipulated duration. Then the instruments undergo a cycle of manual scrubbing followed by ultrasonic cleaning. Subsequently the instruments are packed in special pouches and are heat sterilized using steam in an autoclave. For this purpose, we are equipped with, and use, a Class B autoclave manufactured by Melag (Germany), which meets the most stringent standards for sterilization in medical and dental practices. Packing ensures that the instruments are kept sterilized till they are opened for use on a patient. Heat labile instruments and materials are chemically sterilized. Each patient receives a new complement of sterilized instruments which are dispensed in sterilized trays. Our sterilization units are frequently tested to ensure they are working properly.
- Use of disposables wherever possible: Glasses, gloves, syringes, needles and suction tips are immediately discarded after being used on a single patient and are never reused. Disposable plastic covers are used for tray tops, light handles or any equipment in the working area that may get contaminated and is replaced between patients.
- Thorough cleaning and disinfection of the treatment area between patients
- All materials, prosthesis and appliances going to & coming from dental laboratories go through a suitable disinfection protocol before being delivered to patients.
