Whether it is a single tooth or the entire set of teeth that is missing, we specialize in all kinds of dental prosthesis including Implants. Implants today are the best replacement options for missing teeth and provide an experience very close to having your natural teeth. We offer a number of reputed implant systems to suit all budgets and cases including Nobel Biocare implant which is perhaps the most widely used and reputed implant system in the world.
Our natural tooth consists of a root portion which is embedded in our jawbone to secure the tooth and a crown portion which is what we see in the mouth and is used for chewing. A dental implant is a small, sturdy, titanium post which replaces the root of a missing tooth. The implant is surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone. Then an artificial crown, usually made of porcelain is placed on top of the implant to completely replace the missing tooth. If multiple teeth are missing, several implants (as per the requirements of the particular patient) can be placed in the jawbone on which a fully fixed set of artificial teeth (commonly referred to as a dental bridge) can be secured to give a near natural, highly esthetic replacement. In patients with all teeth missing, implants can be used to provide a fully fixed set of artificial teeth (bridge) or to secure a full set of removable dentures, greatly increasing its stability, retention and chewing efficiency, thus contributing immensely to the overall patient experience and confidence.
Implant logy is based on "Osseo integration", which is an incredibly strong bonding of titanium to surrounding bone. The concept of Osseo integration was developed in the 1950s and 1960s by Professor Branemark at Sweden. During an unrelated bone grafting research, he made a ‘lucky’ discovery that titanium plates bonded irreversibly to living bone tissue, an observation which contradicted all scientific theory at that time. Dr. Branemark went on to demonstrate that under carefully controlled conditions, titanium could be structurally integrated into living bone with a very high degree of predictability, and without long-term soft tissue inflammation or rejection. Branemark coined the name “Osseo integration", meaning the attachment of healthy bone to a titanium implant. Osseo integration of the implant allows the new replacement tooth (or teeth) to not only have a very strong, stable, and long-lasting base, but the patient is able to enjoy all the comfort, functionality and beauty of healthy natural teeth. Dental implant logy today is a highly reliable and predictable procedure with a success rate greater than 90 percent with recent long term studies continuing to show improving success.
